🎬 DIRECTOR MODE

Guide the story. Don't clutter it.

Director gives you a place to tell the AI what should remain true, what it should avoid, and where a scene should go next.

The important part: Furina's generated Director context can be sent with your message while remaining hidden from your normal local chat presentation.

🎬
Director reminds. It does not force.

The model can still ignore or misunderstand an instruction. Furina improves consistency by keeping guidance available — it cannot guarantee obedience.

01
PERSISTENT NOTES

Things the AI should keep remembering.

Persistent Director Notes can accompany multiple messages until you disable them.

YOUR CHAT
I try to lift the old wooden box.

Furina keeps its generated Director block out of the normal rendered message.

OUTGOING MESSAGE
ooc: furina-director:

[CONTINUITY]
[RULE] Never write dialogue, thoughts, decisions or actions for the user's character.
[CANON] Aya's left arm is still injured.

I try to lift the old wooden box.
Your own normal OOC messages are not hidden.

Furina only recognizes and hides blocks containing its own internal markers. A normal message you type beginning with ooc: remains visible.

02
NEXT REPLY

Direction that expires after one turn.

Use this when you want something to influence the immediate response without becoming a permanent rule.

DIRECTION FOR NEXT REPLY
Keep the confrontation tense. Do not reveal who is behind the door yet.
Applies once
NEXT RESPONSE

The handle moves. Someone is definitely standing on the other side. But the door does not open.

After the next successful send, the temporary instruction can clear instead of staying active throughout the story.

03
GUARD RAILS

Common RP problems, one switch away.

04
NARRATIVE PRESETS

A coordinated direction in one choice.

Presets add a small set of genre-aware Director rules. They work alongside your notes, Guard Rails, cues and knowledge boundaries rather than replacing them.

SLOW-BURN ROMANCESubtext, uncertainty and earned intimacy.

Avoid rushing intimacy; let affection emerge through behavior, small choices and unresolved tension.

HORROR PURSUITUncertainty, clues and survival continuity.

Reveal threats gradually, use environmental clues and keep injuries, routes and resources consistent.

ACADEMY RPSchedules, obligations and social consequences.

Keep school rules, classes, clubs, faculty roles, reputation and academic complications present.

EPIC / HIGH STAKESConsequences, momentum and costly choices.

Keep consequences persistent, choices meaningful and urgency high without removing user agency.

MYSTERYFair clues without premature answers.

Preserve the central mystery, seed interpretable clues and keep character knowledge limited.

No preset is also a valid preset.

Choose “No preset” when your own Director Notes, Guard Rails and scene tools already describe exactly what you want.

05
DIRECTOR CUES

Prepare drama now. Trigger it later.

A Cue can sit quietly until its trigger condition becomes true.

06
KNOWLEDGE BOUNDARIES

Characters are not telepathic.

Track the truth separately from who is actually allowed to know it.

THE TRUTH Mira stole the silver key.
[KNOWLEDGE_BOUNDARIES]
Truth — Silver key: Mira stole the silver key.
Knows: Aya
Suspects: Ren
Does not know: Kai
[/KNOWLEDGE_BOUNDARIES]
✓ Boundary supplied before generation Furina provides this guidance to the model; it does not scan or rewrite the completed reply afterward.
!
Furina cannot rewrite a reply after the model sends it.

Knowledge Boundaries are reminders supplied as context. Their purpose is to reduce mistakes, not secretly alter generated responses afterward.

NEXT GUIDE

Director handles guidance. Continuity handles memory.

Next we'll look at the Continuity Vault and how Furina selects relevant story facts without blindly sending every saved memory on every turn.
